Scott Newman Admiralty Island Brown Bear Hunting Guide
I was born and raised in Petersburg, Alaska and have been around boats my entire life as Petersburg is a fishing community. I have fished commercially throughout the state for salmon, halibut, blackcod and crab. I became an assistant guide in 1988 and worked for Master guide Bill Petersen out of Sitka, Alaska. Eventually, I attended flight school and acquired my commercial pilots license as well as my flight instructor certificate. I flew commercially with a part 135 air taxi operation flying Dehavilland Beavers and Cessna 185's on amphibious floats for 4 years before I ventured out on my own and started Southeast Alaska Guide Service in 1993. I am now Master Guide #157 with the State of Alaska and I also hold a 100 TON Masters Coast Guard license.
I married Cynthia in 1991 and we now have three daughters
